CCTV is now used more in the UK than anywhere in Europe. The fall in cost of Digital CCTV technology coupled with the need to protect personnel and property have resulted in the installation a vast number of CCTV systems.
CCTV systems are often used to record images simply to enable them to be reviewed should an incident come to light e.g. a car is damaged in a staff car park or peraps a break in occurred when everyone had gone home.
This latter scenario is where a monitored CCTV system can really make a difference. The CCTV system can be linked via the internet to an ARC in a similar way to an intruder alarm system. Alarms will be generated by either additional devices such as external Beams or Redwall type devices. In some cases the cameras themselves can be used to detect motion.
The result of any alarm is that an alarm signal is sent to the Alarm Receiving Centre.

  • The controller at the ARC will be given access to your site to view live pictures and also to review the digitally recorded images of the incident.
  • Fitting Voice equipment will allow the controller to talk directly to an intruder. This is an extremely powerful deterrent, refering to an intruder by what they are wearing and warning them to leave immediately!
