1985 |
Contract Fire Systems is Formed by Brothers Gary &
Steven Quirke as a specialist provider of electronic fire detection
and fire suppressions systems. The business was formed as of the
father’s electrical contracting business AJAY electrical. The business
is based in Aldridge, West Midlands and has 4 employees with a 1st
year turnover of £160,000 |

1988 |
The company moves to Derwent house and into the very
centre of Birmingham. The business continues to grow, working with a
combination of local businesses and the many Property Management
companies situated around the city centre. |

1995 |
A regular subcontractor to CFS, "Cutbill Fire", is
purchased and the next Stage of the "One stop Shop" is in place, CFS
own a sprinkler company. |

1998 |
As Chubb purchase Kidde Thorn, CFS manage to bring the
Midlands branch manager & his team on board to provide a quality fire
extinguisher department that will continue to grow and provide first
class service to many national retailers later including Woolworth’s
and Phones 4U |

1999 |
After 13 years of organic growth through referrals, a
sales team was formed for the first time. New business sales would
grow from £1M in year 1 to 4.6M by year 4. CFS complete a project
protecting a major European Fibre optic network in record time and win
an award for their efforts |

2000 |
The turn of the millennium and another milestone,
Treadway Fire, based in Kings Cross, were purchased to provide cover
to the ever expanding customer base in the south of England. CFS
awarded the Green Shamrock award for export, presented by the Mayor of
Birmingham |

2001 |
Things become even more exciting with the formation of
Contract Security and the Purchase of Shivon security in Northampton
as a sister company to the group followed by Northern Fire Systems in
West Yorkshire. Suddenly CFS were a major player and a real
alternative to be considered for National Service contracts. Growth of
the company and profitability continue to rise resulting in 34th
Place at the Financial Times Inner City top 100 awards |

2002 |
As the strengths of CFS as a national service provider
are recognised in the market place, major high street names such as
B&Q, Carphone Warehouse, Clarks Shoes and Focus Wickes, become
clients. |

2003 |
Contract Fire Systems purchase sister company Contract
Security and form Contract Fire Security. Turnover now approaching
£9M per annum and CFS are the fastest growing independent fire &
security company in the UK. Southern office moves to modern facility
in Waltham Abbey. A new headquarters in Sutton Coldfield is occupied
29/9/03 and CFS strengthen board to enable the realisation of a 3 year
plan to become the largest independent fire & security company in the
UK. It is estimated that the current 167 strong workforce will double
during this period. |

2004 |
Contract Fire Security continue
to grow with forecast turnover for 2004/2005 of £10.2M. Multi-Task
Technicians are trained to allow a unique service - one engineer
covering all aspects of CFS service provision from Fire Alarm, to
CCTV, PAT Testing & Access Control. |

2005 |
CFS now boast NSI audited
service completion stats in excess of 98%. First time fix now averages
of 85% and the quality of service being delivered is complemented by
the efficiency of Multi-Task Technicians. CFS are a major force in
retail fire and security maintenance offering high street stores a
viable and economical alternative when ensuring legislative
conformity. |

2006 |
CFS achieve NSi NACOSS Fire Gold
Accreditation for the Design / Supply and Installation of Fire Alarm
Systems. New contracts are awarded including National
Maintenance contracts from Sainsbury's, Game, LA Fitness, and HSS Hire
Shops. CFS Engineering team expands to cope with demand. A new Sales
Director, John Jones, is appointed having left his former role as
General Manager of Kidde Fire Protection in the UK |
